Here are the trends and hot topics we’re tracking this month.

What are the emerging HR Trends for 2024?

As we prepare for the new year, let's look ahead at what will be some of the biggest areas of change and growth for HR professionals. Here are three areas where we expect to see a lot of transformation:

  • AI and Automation: More organizations are adopting cloud-based, HR systems with AI and automation to help make their work more efficient and free up time for strategic business objectives.
  • Employee experience: Studies show that happy employees are more productive, which explains why focusing on making the workplace more meaningful and enjoyable for employees will be big in 2024.
  • Focus on pay equity and transparency: With a growing demand for fairness, more organizations are evaluating their compensation and working to eliminate any disparities. A compensation analysis can help your organization assess the current salary structure and align team member performance with business goals. AI and automation are also game-changers in compensation, allowing for real-time data insights that help improve compensation decision-making.

What is your area of expertise or focus?

I support the Workforce Advisory Team in RKL Virtual Management Solutions by providing clients with HR guidance. This includes anything from job descriptions, recruitment, writing handbooks, compliance, assessments, personnel audits and more. Every day looks different!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

My team! Since day one, everyone has been incredibly kind, supportive and uplifting. It’s hard starting your career, but my team made it easy. Everyone brings their own unique skills and personality to the table, which makes working together feel both invigorating and rewarding.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I love to sail! I started sailing as a child at the sleepaway nature camp I attended every summer and quickly fell in love. Once I became an older camper and also on staff, I enjoyed teaching kids how to sail and developing their skill sets. While also at the camp, I was a playwright, where I wrote and directed the camp plays and musicals. My favorite is a Hairspray parody called Bugspray!
