Prioritizing Mental Health in the Workplace
Organizations prioritizing mental health programs for employees are investing in flexible options for individual needs. Apps like Calm or Headspace offer guided meditations, mental health coaching and therapy and can help improve mental health outcomes and save your organization money by increasing productivity and employee retention. Explore the options available, and consider including a subscription in your benefits package.
Last month, we asked about your organization's current stance on employees returning to the office. 39% responded that they never went hybrid or remote, 33% answered that they returned to the office as soon as it was safely possible, 22% responded that they plan to remain remote/hybrid, and 6% answered that they are remote/hybrid with plans to bring employees back into the office a few days a week.
According to Forbes, the majority of employees work in the office full-time. However, 98% of employees prefer to work remotely, at least part of the time. If your organization is struggling with recruiting and retaining new candidates, consider whether a remote model is an option for your workplace.
...the 2023 EEO-1 filing platform opens soon?
The 2023 EEO-1 filing platform will open on April 30, 2024. The EEO-1 Component 1 report is a mandatory annual data collection that requires all private sector employers with 100 or more employees and federal contractors with 50 or more employees meeting specific criteria to submit workforce demographic data, including data by job category, sex and race or ethnicity, to the EEOC. The deadline to file the report is Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

The U.S. Department of Labor has released its minimum wage changes for 2024, as highlighted below.
District of Columbia
Increasing minimum wage to $17.50 (effective 7/1/2024)
Increasing minimum wage for tipped employees to $10.00 (effective 7/1/2024)
Tukwila, WA
Increasing minimum wage of mid-sized employers to $19.29 (effective 7/1/2024)
California
Increasing minimum wage of fast food workers to $20.00 (effective 4/1/2024)
Santa Monica, CA is increasing minimum wage to $17.28 (effective 7/1/2024)
Minneapolis, MN
Increasing minimum wage for small employers to $15.57 (effective 7/1/2024)
